Custom Kitchen Cabinets Services

What's The Difference?

You may be asking yourself “what’s the difference between custom made cabinets and cabinets that I can buy online?”  Here’s the answer.  Unlike big box stores and businesses that assemble parts to make cabinets, we design and handcraft your cabinets and furniture using expert skill, premium locally-sourced materials, and the latest technology. Our skilled craftsmen use techniques that ensure your cabinets and furniture will last a lifetime, like dovetailing drawer joints and soft-closing cupboard doors and drawers.  Online cabinets and RTA (ready-to-assemble) cabinets use staples, glue and screws, which will invariably fail in the near future.  We would love to be part of your next kitchen remodeling project, so give us a call for a free consultation.

Your home is personal, and a great source of pride – it’s where family resides and memories are shared. And your kitchen is at the center of it all.  We are committed to providing clients with the best quality materials, custom built into the most beautiful, functional cabinets and furniture.  We here at Craft Vista Cabinetry know that our cabinets and furniture will bring beauty to your daily life.

What Are Custom Cabinets?

Many companies use the term “custom” far more often than is true.  Do you really know what the word custom means? Custom means cabinets designed with only one home in mind.  Think of “custom” as “unique”.  There is only one design made, and it’s made for you.  However, cabinet companies produce pre-fab or semi-customized cabinets in mass production with preset  dimensions.  Then cabinet installers are forced to  use fillers strips and spacers to make the cabinets appear to fit your home.  These gimmicks actually waste space and create gaps between cabinets.

Conversely, skilled craftsmen measure custom cabinets specifically for your home prior to construction.  Expert cabinet makers listen carefully to your preferences and needs.  Experienced cabinet designers maximize all the space for functionality.  Well-designed custom cabinets feature a finished aesthetic appeal.  Fillers and spacers are not necessary.

Craft Vista Cabinetry is the best choice for building your custom kitchen cabinets because we prioritize quality craftsmanship, personalized service, and attention to detail. We understand that your kitchen is a central part of your home, and our goal is to create cabinets that not only enhance the functionality and aesthetics of your space, but also showcase your unique style and preferences. With years of experience and a commitment to using high-quality materials and innovative techniques, we ensure that every cabinet we build meets the highest standards of durability and beauty. Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service, guiding you through the design and installation process to ensure your complete satisfaction. When you choose us for your custom kitchen cabinets, you can rest assured that you're getting a product that is tailored specifically to your needs and built to last for years to come.

Benefits of Custom Cabinets

Crafted to Fit

Custom cabinets built to fit your room will achieve both longevity and functionality.  Having your cabinets specially made will help you use every inch smartly.  Many kitchens have fewer cabinets than they technically have room for because stock cabinets come in predetermined sizes.

Quality Craftsmanship

Kitchen cabinets built by a skilled cabinet maker will last longer than stock cabinets, because of how they are constructed.  You decide what type of wood, style and finish to use, as well as the hardware that will best match.  The cost is going to be more but it will pay for itself with cabinets that will last and increase the value of your home.

Built to Last

Tailor made cabinets are meticulously handmade by skilled cabinet makers who take pride in their craftsmanship. Their attention to detail and dedication to quality result in beautifully finished products that are built to last.

Responsible Sourcing

When choosing stock cabinets, you don’t know where the materials were sourced or what the environmental impact it had.  Custom cabinets allow you to choose the materials you want and offer you a wider choice of local or domestic hardwoods that will lessen the ecological footprint.

Consultation

Meet with one of our consultants to discuss your vision, budget and time frame, among other important factors. We will help you identify what is important to you and put a plan together. Be sure to bring all your ideas. It doesn't hurt to do a little research before the meeting to see what's out there. You can find a number of blogs that discuss all the unique options there are when you custom build your cabinets.

Design

Meeting with a designer will help you to choose the type of wood species you want to use. Choose the style, color and hardware that will best match your taste and your room. The designer will also help you cover all the little things you may not think to ask. Be sure to have samples ready for the other colors and textures of the room you are remodeling. This will ensure you pick a complimentary cabinet color.

Build & Install

A qualified professional will come to your home and take precise measurements. (This is a great time for a little house painting).  Once made, a team will install the cabinets properly. They will test all the drawers and cabinet doors to make sure they work perfectly and are very quiet. They will add the finishing touches like the toe kicks and crown molding. In the end, you will have the room of your dreams!

5 Costly Mistakes To Avoid

  • 1. Going Overboard

You might want to have lots of cabinets to fill with all your “stuff”.  But putting cabinets on all of your walls, regardless of  how beautiful they are, can make the room feel suffocating. Leaving some open space can create a more relaxed feel in your design.   Good custom cabinet design is all about balancing storage, function, and aesthetics.

  • 2. Poor Color Choice

Cabinets have to blend well with the overall color of your kitchen – the floor, countertops and appliances you have.  Whether you’re using natural wood, stain or paint on your new cabinets, ask your cabinet maker or designer for samples before committing to a color.  If you're planning some interior house painting, be sure to take the color into consideration.

  • 3. Not Using Vertical Space

This is surprisingly a common mistake. Many people don’t bring up their cabinets all the way to the ceiling. It could be because they can’t reach the cabinets that are too high, but isn’t that what the step stool is for.  Having this extra storage for items you use only once or twice a year is ideal for this space (you probably already have these items on top of your cabinets anyway.)

  • 4. Skimping On The Hardware

It’s true that kitchen remodeling is a significant investment to your home, but that’s no excuse to skimp on quality. Invest in high quality cabinets that are good-looking and durable.  Consider the design of the cabinets and the room they will go in, and select quality hardware that will enhance your cabinets and bring a finished look.  If you want a more contemporary look, you should consider invisible hinges. Hidden cabinet hinges create a clean modern look to your cabinets.

  • 5. No Dedicated Pantry Area

Whether it’s a walk-in pantry or a cabinet pantry, we all can agree that having a pantry can define the difference between organization and chaos. Cabinet pantries offer a more centralized storage space that won't take so long to search through and will be easier to maintain. And since they're part of the cabinetry, they won't eat into the kitchen's square footage and can be located much closer to the cooking workspace. A walk-in pantry is the ideal situation where you can store food, small appliances, “once-in-a-while” service that you only use on holidays, and so much more.

It's All About Space

1 - Achieving the Perfect Fit

A professional remodeling contractor will take specific measurements for your project and from there, a layout will begin to take shape.  Custom made cabinets are built to utilize all of the space available without losing precious inches, which is what happens when you use standard stock cabinets.

2 - Utilizing Every Inch

Custom cabinets can be built to fit any space, no matter how challenging it may seem. The use of corner cabinets with lazy susans, blind corner open shelving, vertical storage solutions, and pull-out shelves can make the most of every usable inch.

3 - Make the Most of It

When you custom build your cabinets, you can personalize them to satisfy your wants and needs . For example, how about a docking station added to a drawer. Or a built-in wine rack or even a wine fridge. Perhaps some under-cabinet lighting. Take the time to consider what specialties you want and talk with your designer.
